Best resorts for babies and toddlers in Ibiza

Playa Es Cana

family guide to ibiza

Playa Es Cana is on the ultra-relaxed east coast of the island. It’s home to the longest sandy beach in Ibiza, so plenty of space for building sandcastles here! Plus, the famous Hippy Market takes place every Wednesday and is a smorgasbord of sights and sounds with atmospheric arts and crafts stalls along with authentic street food. The bars and restaurants in the resort centre have a family-friendly vibe and you can even hop on a boat trip to the even quieter Formentera island.

Santa Eulalia

family guide to ibiza

Santa Eulalia is another of Ibiza’s sandy coastal paradises on the eastern coast of the island. The resort boasts two beaches with stunning white-gold sands. They look even more beautiful in the apricot glow of Ibiza’s legendary sunsets. Santa Eulalia has also become famous as the gastronomic capital of Ibiza, with a great range of highly rated restaurants. Meanwhile, there’s a fun tourist train to save the strain on little legs – perfect for holidays in Ibiza with babies and toddlers.

San Antonio Bay

San Antonio Bay is the much calmer neighbour of San Antonio. Sitting on the opposite end of the horseshoe-shaped beach that connects the two resorts, things are much more sedate around here. There’s lots to recommend it for holidays in Ibiza with babies and toddlers, as there are waterparks, crazy golf courses and multi-sports centres all nearby. You’ll find plenty of open-air, family-friendly bars and restaurants too.

Playa Es Figueral

family guide to ibiza

Playa Es Figueral lies on the super sedate north eastern coast of the island, where quiet coves and fragrant pine forests paint a picture of paradise. Relaxing is often the top activity of the day here! However, it’s near enough to reach the family-friendly restaurants and bars of Santa Eulalia in the east or the stunning beach of Portinatx in the north.

Cala Llonga

family guide to ibiza

Cala Llonga sits just south of Santa Eulalia, so it’s worth the trip if you’re staying in this resort. It’s a sheltered bay with calm waters and a beautiful backdrop of pine-clad hills. Plus, there’s even a playground, making this beach a perfect choice for holidays in Ibiza with babies and toddlers.

Playa Cala Salada

Playa Cala Salada may only have a fairly narrow shoreline of golden sand, but it’s still an amazing cove for its rocky cliffsides and overhanging pine trees. You’re sure to be wowed by the snorkelling here too – the crystalline waters create the perfect conditions for viewing the many fish!

Playa de Talamanca

Playa de Talamanca is one of the nearest sandy beaches to Ibiza’s old town, so it’s perfect if you’re on a day trip to the island’s capital. The water here is also calm and shallow, making it a good choice on Ibiza holidays with babies and toddlers.

Playa Porto

Playa Porto is one of the trio of beaches you’ll find in Portinatx on the very northern coast of Ibiza. Much like the rest of the resort, it has a quiet, sedate atmosphere and a very scenic seafront.

Situated just south of Ibiza, Formentera is one of the quietest and smallest islands in all of the Balearics. Luckily, it’s also one of the most idyllic! Expect to see silky golden sands and waters that shimmer like burnished sapphire in the sizzling midday sun. The boat trip to reach the island takes just 30 minutes, so you won’t need to worry about the children getting bored on the way here.

Aquarium Cap Blanc

Aquarium Cap Blanc is based in the south of the island, not far from San Antonio Bay. The vibrant tropical fish and sea creatures here are sure to delight little ones, so it’s perfect during holidays in Ibiza with babies and toddlers. Even more impressively, the aquarium is also a Recovery Centre of Marine Species. This means they do impressive local work in caring for turtles and getting them ready to be released back into the Mediterranean Sea.

Ibiza tourist train

family guide to ibiza

The Ibiza tourist train stops at several of the most popular holiday resorts on the island’s east coast. Not only is it a fun way to travel, it also takes you to the best tourist attractions in the area, such as the old harbour of Es Pou des Lleo and the 16th century church located in Santa Eulalia. The 15km route even ventures from the flats of sandy beaches to the hills of pine forest, so it saves you from walking far too.

Ibiza Castle

This imposing fortress was built back in the 15th century by Philip II of Spain. It actually forms the highest part of the Dalt Vila, also known as Ibiza Old Town in the island’s capital. You’ll need to walk up steep inclines of cobbled roads, past authentic restaurants and bars, to reach the top. If you do, you’ll be rewarded with magnificent sea views from the ramparts.
